Book Review: The Age of Turbulence
If you have to read one economics book, skip this and go for ‘Commanding Heights’, it is a better economics overview. ‘Age of Turbulence’ however, is interesting in the focus on young Greenspan (though you can really see his pretension show through).
Most of the book read well – with the exception of two sections: The social security section (too boring as a non-american), and the regulation chapter (painful reading what has proven to be so obviously wrong in the face of the credit crisis). The Updated section on the credit crisis was particularly interesting, and warrants a read on its own.
