Hi,

I went through your blog and I like the fact that there is no sugar coating about what the CFA exam entails.

I recently registered for Level 1 and was hoping we could start corresponding via email about the CFA charter and the best steps to attain it?

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. Question - does the CFAI accept only finance related work experience. Because I have a 3 year IT experience and would have loved if it counted for something...
thanks

I dont have an undergraduate degree in finance, infact have a very tech oriented background ( MS in Computer Science) but would like to change tracks. In your opinion, which seems better ---- mba (finance) followed by cfa charter or directly cfa charter and does the lack of background in finanace have a bearing on the future job? Thanks

I passed Level 1 in Dec 08 and appeared for Level 2 yesterday. I am fairly confident of scoring more tha 80% in overall score but i am a little doubtful about my performance in ethics section. Can you please tell me whether there is any minimun threshold like 50 % that one has to clear for passing the exam irrespective of the performance in the other sections.

[...] Studied while at my current job, often in hotel rooms until late in the night. Obviously started studying earlier, and was forced to adopt a strict study schedule that I followed well. Committed ~250 hrs. to studying. Exam material was new, and was more difficult than Level I. Actual exam was very tough, and I left the exam room with low confidence - Was pleasantly surprised to find that I passed fairly comfortably. See my Level II review here. [...]

Congratulations on ur clearing level 2. I work in IB analytics division and have done mba in finance along with cfa(indian) first level cleared.I plan to take up level1 in december and level 2 in june. Iam worried about the level2 exam in june as the general perception is that level 2 is the toughest.I want your opinion whether it is possible to cover the course in 5 months or in 250 odd hrs.
