New site launched
As you can see, the new site is up. The motivation for this site’s development came from my work. Looking at content management systems, and the need to test a blogging system led me to wordpress - and I’m quite impressed.
WordPress uses PHP and MySQL, so I’m much more familiar with the workings of the system than my old greymatter (done with CGI), although I never did both to look at the code. PHP is nice and easy – and I should have made the switch long ago.
I’m sure there are many quirky things with the site. I tried to make sure it works will all brosers, but it may be buggy to some. Let me know if anything screws up, and I’ll do my best to fix it.
Here is a list of what else is needed to be done before the site can be completely finished:
- Update style of photo gallery to match
- fix style sheets for comments
- fix style sheets for daily link archive
- add old guestbook to contact section
- port over some of my old “random” content”
- update categories of daily, and main content posts
- Bring over my old links (the permanent ones)
- Add an icon (ico file)
