Sports Day Coming Up
Mother of Pearl!!! Once again, the posting interval has become too long for my own good!
My camera has not yet arrived! Zut Alors! I will keep you updated on the status of that sucka…
My cousin sistah, and Aunti-G have been visiting from Virginia- and it has been good times- Those of us in Wancouver are lucky to be in such a “pretty” place.
In some good news- SPORTS DAY IS UPCOMING!!! check it out here: www.sportsday.web.ms -I hope to see you on the playing field.
I’ve got some links to post as well: The “Humane” Society of the United States have decided that they don’t like Canada, because “we actively promote a barbaric slaughter of wildlife”. This is what they propose will solve the problem:
Don’t vacation in Canada. Consider instead spending your tourist dollars in a nation that does not actively promote a barbaric slaughter of wildlife. A recent HSUS survey showed that 65% of U.S. citizens said they would not be likely to vacation in Canada if their vacation dollars were used to subsidize the seal hunt.
Fortunately for the HSUS, I do not have the time right now to tear apart their weak arguements and propoganda – can you see the irony of an American society condemning Canada as a country that suppors “barbaric slaughter”. My god!!! They took out full page ads in large distribution papers in the states urging people to stop visiting Canada.
Before I go on, let me propose a similiarly reasoned arguement:
Bill is not a fan of hate-crimes, and actually takes them to be quite barbaric. Since most hate crimes are commited by white poeple, Bill think that i will put some kind of economic pressure on white people to stop these heinous crimes. Bill will stop purchasing any kinds of products from white people, or from organizations that are primarily operated by white people. Bill realizes that the people that he is boycotting (and who will suffer from my actions) are not the ones committing the act he is opposed to, however it will pressure them to make other white people “behave”.
Clearly this is not fair to the people that he is boycotting. It is within the right of HSUS to do so- but it doesn’t appear to be an agreeable strategy to me. I’ll let you decide… click here to find out more.
Homeless people in Seattle do some work.
